GREATER HICKORY CLASSIC PROMOTES SARA WAUGH

CONOVER, NC - The Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn Presented by Kia Motors, a PGA TOUR's Champions Tour golf tournament at Rock Barn Golf & Spa September 10-16, 2007, has promoted Sara Waugh to the position of tournament coordinator.

This promotion reflects the duties Waugh already manages, including handling all volunteer and pro-am initiatives, sponsor fulfillment and office administration for the tournament, and incorporates additional responsibilities.

"Sara has been an invaluable asset to the tournament since she joined us two years ago, and we are pleased to announce her promotion," said Jim Correll, executive tournament director. "With her new position, Sara will be an even more integral part of the tournament team."

Waugh, who resides in Statesville, N.C., came to the tournament in 2005 after working with the event's public relations managers as a PR assistant. She received her B.A. in Communication/Public Relations with a minor in Electronic Publishing from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C. Awarded an athletic scholarship, she served as team captain of the Gardner-Webb women's volleyball team and was selected for the Coach's Award in 2004. While in college, Waugh completed a public relations internship with the Iredell-Statesville School System.
