![]() 871 Harp Street, Raleigh, N.C. Communities In Schools of Wake County (CISWC) was named "2003 Charity of the Year" by the Champions Tour. CISWC connects students with community resources and educational opportunities to help them succeed in school and life. CISWC believes every child needs and deserves:
Communities In Schools has 35 programs in North Carolina that are part of a national network of programs across the country. In fact, the Wake County program has been recognized as a signature local program by Communities In Schools of North Carolina. CISWC's vision is that every child has the opportunity to learn and become a productive citizen. Over 1,600 volunteers, tutor/mentors and 300 companies support the CISWC mission throughout the year. Over 7,000 connections to programs and services are made annually for students and their families. Yearly outcome studies show that an average of 91 percent of CISWC students improve their school attendance and 93 percent are promoted to the next grade level. CISWC operates six community learning centers and 15 school program sites, as well as career resource centers to help students prepare for college. Link to CISWC at www.ciswake.org
