There are four Boys & Girls Club sites in Sonoma: Maxwell Farms Clubhouse, Spring Village Clubhouse and Sassarini and Flowery Elementary schools. With a membership exceeding 1900, Boys & Girls Clubs Valley of the Moon serves over 350 youth in the Sonoma Valley daily. The Club is open weekdays, 50 weeks per year during the critical after school hours of 2:00-7:00 pm and offers extended hours during non-school days and holidays. No child is ever turned away because of inability to pay. The Club provides a safe place where Sonoma's youth can interact with caring adults who help them to develop a positive sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence. Although the Club is affiliated with a national youth organization, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we do not receive
any funding from them. We are funded entirely by individual donors, local businesses as well as public and Boys & Girls Club offers age-appropriate, outcome-based youth development programs in five core program areas. Our
tested and proven nationally recognized programs address today's most pressing youth issues, teaching The five core program areas are: Character & Leadership - Helping youth become responsible caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the
democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide Education & Career - These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career
exploration and educational enhancement. Health & Life Skills - These initiatives help youth achieve and maintain healthy, active lifestyles. The Arts - These initiatives help young people enhance self-expression and creativity, develop multicultural appreciation, provide exposure to and develop skills in crafts and visual, performing and literaery arts. Sports, Fitness & Recreation - These club programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction
of stress, appreciation for the environment, and social and interpersonal skills. |

 The First Tee of the North Bay Mission Possible To impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. The First Tee of the North Bay is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit oragnization that serves juniors ages 7 - 17 in Marin, Solano, Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino counties in the North Bay area. Our focus is to teach valuable life skills using golf as a vehicle. Through a life skills education curriculum, we instill nine core values, some of which include honesty, integrity, responsibility and respect. The program delivers a seamless approach, allowing kids to learn the basics of golf, set goals, make friends and develop a strong sense of self. The First Tee members also have opportunities to participate in our competitive Summer Tour, attend leadership academies and the Wal-Mart Pebble Beach Open. Golf is a game for life.  The First Tee of San Francisco The First Tee is a World Golf Foundation initiative introduced in November of 1997 for the purpose of providing affordable golf access to everyone, especially children, who otherwise may not have the opportunity to play the game. Over the past six years, The First Tee has evolved into a credible youth initiative where participants are positively influenced through exposure to important values and life skills while learning and playing the game of golf. The First Tee Life & Skills Golf Experience is a program based on a set of Nine Core Values and developed around a curriculum that seamlessly incoprates life skills, such as goal setting, self discipline and self awareness, into each session. Children learn about themselves and others through exercises that teach lessons and skills that can be used both on and off the course. Much of the First Tee's success is directly attributed to the support and guidance of five leading golf institutions in America that are the Founding Partners - the PGA TOUR, the PGA of America, Ladies Professional Golf Association, United States Golf Association and Augusta National Golf Club. The support of these organizations, along with various individuals, associations, corporations, cities, counties and states, has helped the First Tee develop facilities and programs so The First Tee Life Skills & Golf Experience can be delivered into communities across the country. Building upon the accomplishment of achieving its initial goal of over 100 facilities in development by the end of the year 2000, The First Tee has set out to fulfill several new objectives by the end of 2005, which include: - Introducing the game of golf and its values to 500,000 young people - Expanding the number of dedicated First Tee facilities to 250 that are either open or in development - Establishing 500 affiliate relationships with existing golf courses or other golf facilities that will provide access to The First Tee Experience The First Tee is well on its way to achieving these objectives and looking forward to the next phase of a very bright and exciting future. The Valley of the Moon Children's Foundation is Sonoma County's only emergency shelter for abused, abandoned, and negleted
children. Several years ago the Valley of the Moon Chldren's Foundation formed a public-private partnership with the County
to raise funds to build a much On October 1, 2007 we broke ground for Phase III, the final phase of the building project. Phase III is an integral part of the project that contains support services for the Home; a medical and dental wing, a baby and toddler area, the Redwood Children's Center (for suspected sexual abuse), visiting and consulting areas, admissions, and volunteer services. The Foundation committed to raise $3 million towards the projected completion cost of Phase III. The Foundation gave
the County $1 million when the contract was let in early July and an additional $1 million at groundbreaking October 1, 2007.

 Located in Sonoma, Hanna Boys Center, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization supported solely through the generosity of individuals,
businesses and foundations, is one of California's most successful residential treatment centers for at-risk boys. For more
than 50 years, Hanna's staff and volunteer Board have helped changed the lives of thousands of boys, ages 11 to 18, who are
troubled and seriously at-risk because of family crisis, difficulty in school, behavior problems or educational deficits stemming
from learning disorders. Hanna's program, which is based on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, accepts boys from
diverse ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds from the greater Bay Area and beyond. Through caring, respect, education
and faith, Hanna provides boys with a second chance at a better life.

 CommonBond Foundation was established in 1995 by Bill Hammett and his wife Sara, to foster appreciation and mutual respect among neighboring cultures in Sonoma Valley. A non-profit organization, CommonBond pursues this mission through educational and community-building programs in both Spanish and in English. Educational programs include summer language immersion camps, after school second language enrichment, academic tutoring for high school students, and adult language classes. Community projects range from the public, bilingual radio station KSVY 91.3 Sonoma to the recently adopted Community Action Team for Youth (CATY). The CATY consortium of community-based organizations holds monthly discussions for all community members to attend, discussing and addressing the topics that affect Sonoma's youth. By providing opportunities for second language development, networking and social interaction, CommonBond hopes to promote greater intercultural understanding and respect.  The Presentation School located at 20872 Broadway in Sonoma, opened on September 8, 1997, with an enrollment of 100 students.
The current enrollment is 187 students. Each student enjoys a full spectrum of academic, spiritual and physical education
with extensive personal attention from 20 full and part-time teachers. The student teacher ratio is 11:1. Parents, representing
138 families, are fully involved with the education of their children, serving on the Board of Trustees, volunteering for
a multiplicity of school needs, participating in events, and bringing the message of their belief in The Presentation School
mission to the community at large.
