Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf

(Savannah, GA) - Savannah golf fans will see two World Golf Hall of Fame members for the first time next month when the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf celebrates its 30th anniversary at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa.  Champions Tour rookie Nick Price and NBC lead analyst, Johnny Miller, have both committed to play the 2007 event, Executive Director Tim Iley announced today.  Both players will be making their first appearance in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.

Price, a World Golf Hall of Fame inductee in 2003, turned 50 in January and debuted on the Champions Tour at the Allianz Championship in Boca Raton in February.  One of the most dominant players of the early 1990's, the Durban, South Africa native captured back-to-back money titles in 1993 and 1994 as well as earning PGA TOUR Player of the Year honors in 1994.  Price's 1994 campaign was one of the most prolific years ever on TOUR, winning six times including The PLAYERS Championship, British Open and PGA Championship. 

The 18-time PGA TOUR winner has competed in three events this year on the Champions Tour with his best finish a T17 at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am in Tampa.  The three-time major championship winner will compete for the $2.5 million official money purse in the individual Legends Division competition.

Miller will see his first Champions Tour action since the 1997 Transamerica when he pairs with Mike Reid in the Raphael Team division.  Inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1998, Miller played the PGA TOUR full time from 1969-1994 and collected 24 official victories.  The Salt Lake City, UT resident earned his biggest win at the 1973 U.S. Open at Oakmont, shooting a championship-record 63 in the final round.  Miller enjoyed his best year on the PGA TOUR in 1974, posting eight victories and capturing the money title and PGA Player of the Year honors.
