December 28, 2007

For the second consecutive year, Suncoast Golf has generated more than $2 million ($2,400,600) for Tampa Bay area charities through its sponsorship of PGA TOUR golf. Suncoast Golf has now raised more than $5 million in the past two years to push the organization's 30-year total past the $20 million mark.

"Raising money for charity is the fundamental purpose of our organization," says General Chairman Snow Martin III, "and we've been very successful in that regard. This number is a tribute to a lot of people in our community."

Suncoast Golf will sponsor the upcoming PODS Championship on the Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club to be held March 5-11.

Last year's donation was fueled by another successful year for the Birdies for Tampa Bay Charities program.

The total includes money raised through ticket sales, other tournament proceeds as well as the Birdies for Tampa Bay Charities program. More than 150 area charities benefited from the tournament including Academy Prep.
