Format / Prize Money BreakdownEligibility:The leading 18 available players, each native born citizens* of different countries, from the Official World Golf Ranking on Monday 3rd September 2007 qualified. *In certain circumstances a player may not have actually been born in the country with which he is clearly associated. In such circumstances the determinations will be handled by the Federation on a case by case basis. These 18 players selected a player of their choosing from the same country, provided such player was ranked within the top 100 on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) as of 3rd September 2007. Where there was no other player from that country within the top 100 on the OWGR, the exempt player’s partner was deemed to be the next highest ranked available player from the same country outside of the top 100. Where there was no other available player from that country within the top 500 on the OWGR, the exempt player could select a professional of his choosing from the same country, without regard to the chosen player’s world ranking. Ten countries from the World Qualifiers held between 27th – 30th September 2007, completed the field of 28 nations - five from the Asian qualifier, and five from the Aruba qualifier. The Championship is a 72-hole stroke play team event with each team comprising of two players. The first and third days are fourball (best ball) play and the second and final days are foursomes play.
