TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYER FIELD TO INCLUDE SIX 2008 PGA TOUR WINNERS

Hartford Conn., Tuesday, May 27, 2008 - The Travelers Championship is pleased to deliver some of the PGA TOUR's hottest players of the season with the announcement that six current year PGA TOUR winners will compete in the field. New commitments from Ryuji Imada, Johnson Wagner, Brian Gay and D.J. Trahan, along with previously announced players, Boo Weekley and J.B. Holmes round out the players who have had victories this year. The Travelers Championship will be played June 16 - 22 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

"These six guys have really posted some outstanding results this season. I think the collection of these players, along with some other TOUR stars who have won in previous years, such as Stuart Appleby and Vijay Singh and our defending champion Hunter Mahan, will really make for some dramatic action on the course," said Tournament Director Nathan Grube. "We're looking forward to delivering another great week of golf for the fans."

Currently holding the No. 5 spot on the PGA TOUR money list and the No. 3 position in the FedExCup standings, Ryuji Imada grabbed his first PGA TOUR win at the AT&T Classic earlier this month after beating Kenny Perry in a playoff. Imada had finished second at the event in 2007, after loosing in a playoff to Zach Johnson. The 2008 victory came in the midst of a solid season in which Imada has finished solo second at the Buick Invitational, tied for second at the PODS Championship and tied for fifth at the Northern Trust Open.

After finishing within the top-10 at the event last year, Johnson Wagner came back to earn his first PGA TOUR victory at the Shell Houston Open earlier this year. The win earned him a spot in the Masters Tournament the following week, where he finished tied for 36th. Last year, in his rookie season on the PGA TOUR, Wagner got off to a solid start, making the cut in seven out of his first eight starts, and earning two top-10 finishes.

Brian Gay won his first PGA TOUR victory at the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera-Maya in February. Gay has earned one additional top-10 finish, at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, and four additional top-25 finishes. He is currently No. 31 on the PGA TOUR money list. In both 2006 and 2007, Gay earned two top-10 finishes.

Two time PGA TOUR winner D.J. Trahan earned his second PGA TOUR victory early this season at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Trahan's first PGA TOUR win came in 2006 at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic. At the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, Trahan came back from a four-stroke deficit entering the final round to finish with a three-stroke win over Justin Leonard. Trahan has had three additional top-25 finishes this season, and is currently No. 30 on the PGA TOUR money list. In 2007, Trahan collected three top-10 finishes and concluded the season at No. 21 on the FedExCup points list. Trahan has had a solid start in his initial years on the PGA TOUR, collecting a total of nine top-10 finishes since 2005 and earning more than $1 million each year since 2006.

Imada, Trahan, Gay and Wagner are all new commitments to the Travelers Championship playing field, in addition to two previously announced players who have also won on TOUR this year, Boo Weekley and J.B. Holmes.

Two-time winner of the Verizon Heritage, Boo Weekley is currently ranked No. 26 in the Official World Golf Rankings and holds the No. 10 position on the PGA TOUR money list. Weekley had a solid run in 2007, finishing with five top-10 finishes and nine top-25 finishes. Weekley's success has continued strong this year, having netted four top-10 finishes and nine top-25 finishes to date.

J.B. Holmes is also a two-time winner, after sinking a 13-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to force a playoff at the FBR Open. He then birdied again on the first playoff hole to beat Phil Mickelson and earn his second FBR Open title. Holmes also won the tournament in 2006, his rookie year on TOUR. Holmes has had two other top-10 finishes this year and a total of six top-25 finishes. He is currently ranked No. 11 on both the PGA TOUR money list and the FedExCup standings.

The Travelers Championship is the PGA TOUR's only early summer stop in the Northeast. Festivities will kick off two days early at Golfest Connecticut, a free event to be held at the new driving range at TPC River Highlands, in which the public will have access to test out the season's latest equipment on the new range.
