MORE FORE THE FANS! THE TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCES NEW FEATURES FOR FANS
Hartford, Conn., Thursday, May 22, 2008 - The Travelers Championship is pleased to present a variety of
new amenities for fans when Connecticut's PGA TOUR event, tees off June 16 - 22, 2008 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell,
Conn. New features will include a free golf event at the course on the weekend prior to the tournament, free lessons available
to fans during tournament week, improved concession areas, an interactive Fan Zone expo, and a variety of special
ticket packages and pricing such as a free admission day for fans over the age of 50!
"As title sponsor of this event, it is our goal to make the Travelers Championship one of the best tournaments on the PGA
TOUR for everyone involved. With a variety of new special events and programs, I like to think of 2008 as the 'year
of the fan,'" said Andy Bessette, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Travelers. "The Travelers Championship
donates all proceeds to our designated charities, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and the Greater Hartford Jaycees, so fans
can feel good about coming out to the event, where they'll have a great experience and support two tremendous causes at the
same time."
In honor of the thousands of New England sports fans who have come out to support the tournament for so many years, Friday,
May 30 will be 'Fore the Fans Friday,' during which all General Admission tickets purchased on TravelersChampionship.com will

The festivities kick off on June 14 - 15 at Golfest Connecticut, a free event to be held on the new driving
range at TPC River Highlands. Unlike any other demo day, Golfest Connecticut presented by Golfers' Warehouse and the Travelers
Championship, is the Northeast's largest outdoor golf festival. Golfers of all ages can test and purchase the latest in golf
equiptment, hitting unlimited practice balls while enjoying games, trick shot shows and winning hourly prizes. All spectators
will receive a free sleeve of golf balls, $10 gift certificate to Golfers' Warehouse and one free regripping by Winn Grips.
The event is designed to be a weekend of fun for the whole family.
"We are really looking forward to unveilling the new practice facility for the professionals during the Travelers Championship.
This project was a significant undertaking by so many partners. We wanted to ensure that the community had the opportunity
to experience the new facility as well. Golfest Connecticut was an ideal fit. We look forward to getting fans out to hit on
the new range and really experience what the PGA TOUR professionals will experience at our event," said Nathan Grube, tournament
director.
Golf for the fans continues on Tuesday, June 17 at Fan & Family Day, a full day of tournament events
for all ages. Highlighting the day will be Play Golf America Day presented by the Connecticut Section PGA,
which will feature free lessons on the new driving range at TPC River Highlands with professionals from the Connecticut Section
PGA. In addition, the program will include The Dennis Walters Golf Show, hosted by an inspirational handicap golfer who will
share his story about overcoming disability for his love of the game. The Pinnacle Long Drive team will come out to showcase
their skills on the new range, in a show hosted by team members Brian Pavlet and Mike Moulton. Following the long drivers,
local celebrities will take their best shots on the new range as well, in the Travelers Championship Celebrity Charity Shootout.

The Travelers Championship week has been named Men's Health Week on the PGA TOUR, a special partnership
to support the national initiative of Men's Health Month in June. The program's goal is to heighten awareness of preventable
health problems, the benefits of health and fitness and the importance of early detection in men and boys by having the PGA
TOUR professionals serve as role models. Programming will include healthy consession options and on course walking maps so
that fans can track mileage walked and calories burned. Highlighting the week will be a Men's Health Player Forum,
presented by GlaxoSmithKline, on Wednesday, June 18 at 3:30 p.m. The event will feature
health and fitness tips from panelists and a question and answer session with three PGA TOUR professionals, as well as Jeffrey
Fronk, personal trainer for PGA TOUR professional Vijay Singh; Ron Kaspriske, fitness editor of Golf Digest; and
Joe Theismann, former Washington Redskins quarterback and avid golfer.
Thursday, June 19 is Free Fore 50+ Day. All fans ages 50 and older will be admitted free on this day,
courtesy of AVODART® (dutasteride), simply by showing identification listing a birth date at the gate.
"Fans will have more to do and see throughout the course," said Grube. "In particular, I think they will really enjoy our
new concessions area located at the site of the former driving range. We've added greater variety to the food options and
designed the area to be more conducive to unwinding on the course, catching up with friends and enjoying the atmosphere. We're
also pleased to bring back the on course expo experience, in the Subway Fan Zone, which will feature a variety of activities
for fans to experience - ranging from swing analysis to rock climbing."
With such a variety of events and opportunities available on the course, the Travelers Championship is truly a community
event for all ages. To make it as easy as possible for fans to get our to the course the tournament will once again offer
free admission for children, ages 15 and under, and free admission for all active military personnel.
In addition, new this year, the tournament will offer a discounted admission for all college students. Gate
tickets will be just $10 with an active student identification card - a savings of $22.
The Travelers Championship is the PGA TOUR's only early summer stop in the Northeast. Some of the PGA TOUR's most notable
players have committed to compete in the event, including Vijay Singh, Stewart Cink, David Toms, Stuart Appleby and defending
