THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS

On behalf of the PGA TOUR Championship Management staff and our title sponsor Barclays, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of our 2008 volunteers for the hard work and enthusiasm you put into The Barclays this year.  Vijay's exciting playoff win - his 4th in The Barclays tournament history - capped off a week of beatiful weather and exhilarating golf.  This could not have been possible without hte efforts of each one of our volunteers.

Most importantly, thanks to our volunteers, The Barclays will be able to donate proceeds from the tournament to all of our local community charities. 

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING FOR 2009?

The Barclays 2009 will be played at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ.  To be a part of this amazing event, please email your name, address, phone number and email to marisafontana@pgatourhq.com and include '2009 Volunteer' in the subject line. You will be added to our new volunteer database and receive all necessary information to become a volunteer.

Registration for 2009 volunteers will open in early February 2009.

2008 volunteers will automatically receive volunteer registration information for 2009 and will have committee assigment priority provided their applications are received in a timely manner.  Deadline dates will be posted shortly.

All volunteers are required to purchase a volunteer package.  The Barclays Official Volunteer Uniform Package Includes:

  • The Barclays logoed Cutter & Buck polo
  • The Barclays logoed baseball cap
  • Volunteer Badge (valid for entry the entire week)
  • Guest Badge (valid for entry the entire week)
  • Volunteer Parking Pass (valid the entire week)
  • Lunch on days worked
  • Admission to the Volunteer Appreciation Party

 

Committee Assignment Process

Priority for assignments will be given to those volunteers who worked The Barclays 2008, provided their application is received by a set upon date (TBD).  After that, committees will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

All volunteers will receive a confirmation letter from the tournament office confirming your committee assignment.  This letter will also have your Committee Chairperson's name and contact information. The first batch of confirmation letters will be going out at the end of May.

All volunteers are required to work 3 shifts.  Shifts vary in length, depending on committee. Shifts can be anywhere from 4 - 6 hours, or all day in some cases.  Your Committee Chairman will contact you in June or July to confirm your scheduling preferences and availability.
