THE PLAYERS Championship, the TOUR Academy at TPC Sawgrass, in conjunction with Baptist Health, is offering "Pink Links," a four week free class which promotes the healing process for breast cancer survivors through the game of golf.  Pink Links is part of the Link-Up-2-Golf Program.  To apply or nominate someone for the classes please go to www.e-baptisthealth.com .

This year among the many exciting events scheduled for tournament week was the celebration of the PGA TOUR Wives Association's 20th Anniversary.

At this year's PLAYERS Championship, we honored others who have proven to be "Champions" in their communities, organizations or who have shown the courage to overcome significant personal adversity. 

Twenty (20) "Champions" were chosen, and each paired with a member of the PGA TOUR Wives Association.  The "Champion" and their guest was invited to attend a celebration breakfast and received a VIP tour during THE 2008 PLAYERS Championship.

THE PLAYERS Championship annually combines the best field in golf with the world-class venue that is THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. THE PLAYERS contributes to a diverse group of charities throughout Northeast Florida, living by the PGA TOUR's mission to give back to the communities in which it plays. Since 1977, when THE PLAYERS moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., more than $28 million has been contributed to Northeast Florida charities, ranging from health care to youth and education to human services.

The 2007 PLAYERS tournament raised $2.8 million dollars for local charitable organizations. This effort continues to prove that golf is the official sport of giving back. JELDWEN, UBS and PricewaterhouseCoopers are the exclusive Proud Partners of THE PLAYERS.

The application and guidelines for 2009 are not yet available.  If you have an interest in receiving an application please send in your information and one will be sent to you when they are ready in the spring of 2009.
