The Chattanooga Classic June 19-25 Black Creek Club
For Immediate Release
Luke List, a junior at Vanderbilt and native of Ringgold, Ga., has been awarded a sponsor's exemption to play in the
2006 Chattanooga Classic.
It will be List's second opportunity to play in the Nationwide Tour event. He was given an exemption in 2004, but did not
make the cut.
List is currently ranked in the top 20 among amateurs in the U.S. and among the top 20 collegians.
"We think that given Luke's record over the past couple of years, because he is from the Chattanooga area, and his experience
at Black Creek makes him a natural to receive an exemption," said Sam Woolwine, executive director of the Chattanooga Classic.
List played high school golf at The Baylor School and led the Red Raiders to <> state championships during his career.
He also is a two-time winner of the D-II state championship.
During the 2005-06 season at Vanderbilt, he has won two college tournaments and the New Year's Day event in St. Petersburg,
Fla.
List finished second low amateur and tied for 33rd in last year's Masters. He was the 2004 runner-up in the U.S. Amateur
and was a semifinalist in the 2003 U.S. Public Links.
"I feel very fortunate to be given the sponsor's exemption," List said. "I think the experience I've had since playing
in the Classic the last time will benefit me."
The 2006 Chattanooga Classic will be played June 22-25 at Black Creek Club. While at Baylor, List played Black Creek
numerous times.
