Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open

Cessna Aircraft Co. will be the presenting sponsor for the Wichita Open's Wednesday pro-am at Crestview Country Club this year.

The Aug. 1 pro-am gives amateurs and aspiring professionals a chance to play with Nationwide Tour professionals. This is the first year that Cessna has sponsored the event.

 
A pairings party, hosted at the Cessna Customer Center, will take place on July 29.

"We are pleased to be able to support the Nationwide Tour," Jack Pelton, CEO of Cessna, said in a written statement. "Cessna has a long, rich tradition of supporting events in the Wichita area."

The Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open is the only PGA tour event in the state.

Roy Turner, the open's director, recently announced the addition of a Tuesday pro-am at Newton's Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
