Editor’s note: Andrew Johnson is back to defend his title this week at the Legend Financial Group Classic Presented by Cynergies Solutions. Johnson, who won his first Nationwide Tour title at the inaugural event in Cleveland, Ohio last year, caught up with PGA TOUR Media Official John Bush for another edition of “Chat with the Champ.” PGATOUR.com: What is your favorite PGA TOUR golf memory as a kid? Johnson: I can’t remember an exact shot, like Tom Watson holing out at the U.S. Open, but I’d probably say sitting in front of the television every April with my Dad watching the Masters. PGATOUR.com: What is your idea of a perfect day? Johnson: My life is pretty hectic considering how much traveling I do, so I’d say just laying around on a rainy day with nothing to do. Johnson: A Supercross race in Orlando earlier this year. PGATOUR.com: What was the last concert you attended? Johnson: It has been a while, probably Sheryl Crow about six years ago. Johnson: "The Shawshank Redemption" PGATOUR.com: Which do you prefer, the NCAA Basketball Tournament or the college football bowl season? Johnson: I don’t watch either one. PGATOUR.com: What is your favorite candy bar? Johnson: I don’t eat them, but if I did it would be a Snickers. PGATOUR.com: What was the name of your pet as a child? Johnson: I had several, but one of my favorites was a schnauzer named Jake. PGATOUR.com: As a chef, what is your specialty? Johnson: Anything on the grill. That’s why it is still in my bag. PGATOUR.com: Speaking of golf equipment, when was the last time you bought a golf ball? Johnson: I’m guessing in 1997. PGATOUR.com: Who would be in your dream foursome? Johnson: I’m not really a golf historian, so I’d say my parents and Jesus…but I don’t think they golf there, so I’d add in my sponsor Richard Ullman. PGATOUR.com: Tell us your proudest moment. Johnson: It is a tie between winning the Nationwide Tour event in Cleveland last year and finishing this questionnaire. |
