EAST MOLINE, Illinois -- American teenager Michelle Wie will take another crack at the PGA TOUR at the John Deere Classic in July.

The tournament granted the 16-year-old a sponsor's exemption on Wednesday.

This will be the fifth time Wie plays on the PGA TOUR, and she had her most success at the John Deere. A year ago, Wie was inside the cut until a double bogey on the 16th hole and a bogey on the 17th, to miss by two shots. The Hawaiian finished two rounds at 1-under 141.

Wie played in the Sony Open in Hawaii this year, missing the cut for the third straight time. No woman has made the cut on the PGA TOUR since Babe Zaharias in 1945.

The John Deere Classic will be held July 13-16.
