• Jerry Pate’s win last week ended a drought of 23 years, 11 months and 1 day since his final PGA TOUR win -- the 1982 PLAYERS Championship.

• Don Pooley, who is currently second on the Champions Tour money list, tried his hand on the PGA TOUR last week. While he missed the cut, he did shoot a very respectable 1-under-par 143 in Tucson.

• Leonard Thompson tied for fifth last week in Tampa for his best finish since he was second at the 2003 Emerald Coast Classic.
