Finding consistency will be the key for Cameron Beckman as he heads into his 13th season on the PGA TOUR. After all, the 2010 campaign was a feast-or-famine season where he made just nine cuts in 25 starts -- the second lowest total of his career.
That said, there was one very big bright spot when Beckman won the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun. The victory was the 40-year-old's third on the PGA TOUR and his second in the last three years.
Beckman did manage to finish in the top 10 twice in the other eight times he made the cut, which upped his percentage considerably and contributed to just the third seven-figure season of his career.
While his putter got hot in Mexico, Beckman will likely be putting some extra time in on the practice green during the offseason after ranking 152nd in putting average and 127th in putts per round. He didn't exactly give himself many opportunities, though -- Beckman found just 66 percent of his greens in regulation.
Quiet and powerful -- and he wins when he gets the chance.
All or nothing in 2010, but he's exempt through 2012 for winning the Mayakoba Golf Classic. Fair value at the bottom of full-season rosters, but that's it. Couldn't participate in a charity event in Mexico in mid-November due to a tendon injury in his right hand.
