Following his win at the Travelers Championship, dedicated the win to his wife, Angie, and father, Gerry, who was battling lung cancer and later passed away in October of 2010...In August of 2010, provided a clinic in partnership with the PGA TOUR's "Birdies for the Brave" program with the U.S. Armed Forces. Father Gerry, who was a lieutenant in the Green Berets' Special Forces during the Vietnam War, was honored prior to the clinic for his military service with a plaque presented to him by Gen. Steven Duff, commander of U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC. “It's special. With my dad's situation, it's brought to my heart that the military is much more important than what we do for a living. So I needed to do something for the Green Berets and bring light to the Pensacola area.”...Uses a pink shaft in his driver...Attended the same high school—Milton (FL) High School a few years after current PGA TOUR players Heath Slocum and Boo Weekley...Self-taught player who learned the game by hitting wiffle balls around his house. "The house was probably an acre and a half yard with big trees, downtown Bagdad (FL). The house is sitting here, and I drew in the dirt driveway. I'd draw a big circle, and that would be my hole, a 5-foot circle. I'd go around it to the left and then I'd go around it to the right. So I learned to cut it. If you know about wiffle balls or plastic balls, it's hard to cut. Then I learned to hook it the other way, hit it high over limbs, hit it low under limbs. I'd say non-stop every day from 6 to 12 years old. Instead of playing with trucks out in the yard, I'd play with a ball and a club."...Wife Angie is 6-foot-4 and a former University of Georgia, WNBA and European professional basketball player...Sponsors the Bubba Watson Invitational at the University of West Florida, a women's NCAA Division II golf tournament at Stonebrook Village GC...Hosted the first annual Bubba Watson Junior in 2011 at Meadowlands CC in Winston-Salem, NC, to benefit the Victory Junction, a Hole in the Wall Gang Camp affiliate...Affiliated with The First Tee of Northwest Florida and the Ronald McDonald House of Pensacola, FL...Without letting family and friends know, completed requirements toward a degree at the University of Georgia in the summer of 2008, thereby validating his push for kids to stay in school...Wife Angie is 6-4 and a former University of Georgia, WNBA and European professional basketball player.
