    Nicknamed "Tiger" after a Vietnamese soldier who was a friend of his father's in Vietnam...Putted against Bob Hope on the "Mike Douglas Show" at age 2, shot 48 for nine holes at age 3 and was featured in Golf Digest at age 5...Eighth athlete to be named Wheaties permanent rep, following Bob Richards (1958), Bruce Jenner (1977), Mary Lou Retton (1984), Pete Rose (1985), Walter Payton (1986), Chris Evert (1987) and Michael Jordan (1988)...Since 1996, the Tiger Woods Foundation has reached more than 10 million young people by delivering unique experiences and innovative educational opportunities for youth worldwide. Programs of the Foundation include the Tiger Woods Learning Center, a one-of-a-kind educational facility custom built for the underserved youth of Southern California; Tiger's Action Plan, a nationwide character development program based on Earl D. Woods' book entitled "Start Something"; and the Earl Woods Scholarship program. More information on the Tiger Woods Foundation and its programs can be found at tigerwoodsfoundation.org... Serves as the official host of the AT&T National held near Philadelphia and the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, CA. Proceeds from both tournaments benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation...Announced the creation of Tiger Woods Design, a golf-course design company, in 2006. The first course, to be located in Dubai, U.A.E., is called Al Ruwaya. The first U.S. course, a walkable mountain course, is called The Cliffs at High Carolina and will be located east of Asheville, NC.
