    Nicknamed "Tiger" after a Vietnamese soldier who was a friend of his father's in Vietnam…Putted against Bob Hope on the "Mike Douglas Show" at age 2, shot 48 for nine holes at age 3 and was featured in Golf Digest at age 5…Eighth athlete to be named Wheaties permanent rep, following Bob Richards (1958), Bruce Jenner (1977), Mary Lou Retton (1984), Pete Rose (1985), Walter Payton (1986), Chris Evert (1987) and Michael Jordan (1988)…Main Web site is tigerwoods.com...Designed to break through a culture of low expectations, the college-access programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation reach underserved youth in all stages of academic life. For scholars in grades 5-12, the Tiger Woods Learning Centers provide hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering and math coupled with college preparation workshops to create an environment focused on college and careers. Once students are ready for college, the centers offer the Earl Woods Scholarship Program—a support network that includes admissions counseling, mentors, specialized internships, financial assistance and workshops for each scholar accepted into the program. The Tiger Woods Foundation also operates two PGA TOUR golf tournaments, the AT&T National and the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, CA. Proceeds from both events benefit the programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation...Established in 2006, the mission of Tiger Woods Design is to create a collection of golf courses around the world.
