Semifinals

• Geoff Ogilvy joins four others that have started 5-0 (or better) in their Accenture Match Play Championship careers: Jeff Maggert, 6-0, 1999; Andrew Magee 5-0, 1999; Pierre Fulke, 5-0, 2001; Scott McCarron, 5-0, 2002; Geoff Ogilvy, 5-0, 2006.

• Last year on this week, Geoff Ogilvy entered the Chrysler Classic of Tucson No. 83 in the Official World Golf Ranking and won the event in a playoff, jumping to No. 60 after the win.

• Davis Love III entered this week No. 28 in the Official World Golf Ranking -- the last time he was this low in the OWGR was following the 1995 Phoenix Open when he was No. 33 before jumping to No. 26 the following week. He stayed in the top 10 in the OWGR from after the 2002 U.S. Open until after the 2005 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

• Davis Love III is third all-time in Accenture Match Play Championship victories with 18, behind Tiger Woods (23) and Davis Toms (20). Love played in his third career semifinal match on Saturday and now sports a 2-1 record in the semifinals:

Davis Love III – Accenture Match Play Semifinal Match history
2000 Woods def. Love, 5 and 4
2004 Love def. Clarke, 21 holes
2006 Love def. Johnson, 4 and 2

• Through five matches, Davis Love III has trailed during only four of 85 holes. Through five matches, Geoff Ogilvy has trailed in 20 of his 95 holes.

• Entering the championship match, Geoff Ogilvy has not made a bogey since No. 14 against Mike Weir in the third round, a streak of 41 holes without a miscue.

• Seeded No. 59 this week, Zach Johnson was looking to become the lowest seed to win the Accenture Match Play Championship since Kevin Sutherland won the 2002 event as a No. 62 seed.

Quarterfinals

• Six of the eight quarterfinalists are scheduled to play in next week’s Ford Championship at Doral -- Chad Campbell, Retief Goosen, Padraig Harrington, David Howell, Zach Johnson and Davis Love III.

• Retief Goosen went 1-down on No. 6 on Saturday, the first time all week the South African had trailed in a match, a total of 54 holes total either leading or all square before losing the 55th hole.
