Group History

WGC-HSBC Champions
After 4 highly successful years breeding top class Champions, the HSBC Champions tournament in China has been elevated to the elite stable of World Golf Championships events. With a US$2million increase in prize money to US$7million and a revised qualifying criteria, the first World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions will take place at Shanghai's Sheshan International Golf Club from Nov. 5-8, 2009.
HSBC Women's Champions
A US$2million event at Singapore's Tanah Merah Country Club Building on the success of the men's HSBC Champions, the event which has been running for 2 years has attracted the strongest fields ever seen in Asia in both 2008 and 2009.
Annika Sorenstam said: "I think you have a fantastic field. You can't ask for any better and it's a privilege to be part of it."

Amateur Tournaments
The HSBC UK Champions
HSBC UK Champions brings together the winners of both the Business Golf Network and the Premier Golf Network regional qualifying events in a final which takes place at an Open Championship course in a 2 day event.
The Golf World HSBC Champions of Champions
This event brings together club champions from all over Britain, with qualifying events all over the UK and culminates in the grand final at an Open Championship course.
Grassroots Development
Singapore -- HSBC Youth Golfers
Operating in 18 Singapore schools, "HSBC Youth Golfers" has introduced hundreds of children to the sport with a programme that includes coaching and competitions HSBC Youth Golfers Excellence Programme takes the cream of the players and provides them with top-quality coaching and access to golf courses as well as physical and psychological training.
HSBC China Junior Golf Programme
This is structured on a wide geographical scale.
It is designed to allow monitoring of the emerging talent and to ensure that they are exposed to quality information and training.
The programme includes:
- HSBC National Junior Golf Championship (a year-long series of elite youth competitions)
- HSBC National Junior Open
- HSBC Junior Ranking System
- HSBC Junior Golf Camps (summer and winter golf vacations designed to bring together China's most promising youngsters for intensive periods of elite-level training)
