MARANA, Ariz. (Feb. 21, 2013) – Due to the significant suspension of play on Wednesday and Thursday, fans with tickets for either of those days can redeem them for grounds access at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. In addition, any pre-paid Wednesday or Thursday parking pass can be used to park in the General Parking Lot, located on the northwest corner of N. Dove Mountain Blvd., just off Tangerine Rd.
“We appreciate the tremendous amount of support show to us thus far this week, as we do our best to bring fans a world-class experience in the midst of some surprising weather,” said Gerald Goodman, executive director of the Accenture Match Play Championship. “We realize fans who made plans to attend the first two rounds were not able to watch very much golf, so we’d like to invite them to exchange their Wednesday or Thursday ticket for grounds access any one day the rest of the week. We’re looking forward to better weather and a lot of exciting golf over the next three days.”
Fans can bring any Wednesday or Thursday ticket to the gate to be reissued a Friday, Saturday or Sunday Grounds Access ticket. Fans with a Wednesday or Thursday parking pass (regardless of the lot assignment) will be redirected to park in the General Parking lot at no charge.
The Accenture Match Play Championship will once again feature “Follow the Leaders,” a program that gives fans an opportunity to fall in behind the Championship Match and follow the players down each fairway until the 2013 champion is decided. “Follow the Leaders” will give fans the unique chance to experience the crowd, walk the fairways and view the greens from a player’s perspective. All Sunday ticket holders will be invited to “Follow the Leaders” at the Accenture Match Play Championship, the only official match-play event on the PGA TOUR schedule.
The Accenture Match Play Championship, which is the first in a series of four World Golf Championships events in 2013, has been played in the Tucson area since 2007 and at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain since 2009.
