Chris
Dunham
ERIK COMPTON. At No. 3 on the Nationwide money list, has essentially locked up a return to the PGA TOUR next year. On TOUR this year he's 4-for-5 in cuts made. Leads NWT in putting average and would be 27th on TOUR in Strokes Gained - Putting if eligible.
Amanda
Balionis
JEFF QUINNEY. Taking a flier here with the Arizona State grad, whose last made cut on TOUR was the FedEx St. Jude Classic in June, where he finished T52. He was T68 at The Greenbrier Classic last year.
Mike
McAllister
WOODY AUSTIN. Has quietly had a productive July with a T30 at the John Deere, a T18 at the Viking Classic and a T6 last week at the RBC Canadian Open. The heavy schedule may catch up to him this week, but he did finish T4 at The Greenbrier last year.
John
Swantek
JERRY KELLY. A poor weekend at the RBC Canadian Open dropped him to T34, but the Badger should have some bounce-back in him. He can be streaky, but that's the kind of player rewarded at The Greenbrier.
Lauren
Deason
DREW WEAVER. The Virginia Tech grad and 2007 British Amateur winner has played in just one PGA TOUR event this season and one Nationwide event, but made the cut in both. He hopes to fare better at The Greenbrier this year after missing the cut in 2010.
Ryan
Smithson
ARON PRICE. This Aussie has played a lot better as of late. This is just his 13th event of the year, but he's made four of the last five cuts, and had a shot to win in Canada last week until his final-round 80. Lack of length won't hurt him much here.
Anne
Szeker
CAMERON TRINGALE. He's still my go-to sleeper pick because he's still quietly playing quite well. Tied for ninth at the John Deere and tied for 13 at the RBC Canadian. He's getting closer to putting it all together.
John
Schwarb
CHRIS STROUD. Has been on a nice little run of five straight made cuts including two top-20s, highlighted by a T6 at the AT&T National. He was T9 here last year, so he'll make note of the restored tweaks to The Old White TPC and be ready to roll.
Helen
Ross
JIMMY WALKER. He started 2011 on a strong note with three top-10s in his first five starts. The Texan has cooled off since, but should return to The Old White TPC at The Greenbrier with positive memories after tying for fourth last year.
Brian
Wacker
J.B. HOLMES. Very quietly Holmes has put together a decent season with four top-10s. He also tied for 16th last year at the Greenbrier, where he shot a third-round 60. The course certainly seems to fit his eye.
Standings after 30 events
LAST WEEK: Chris Dunham and John Swantek led the way at the RBC Canadian Open with T13 picks, but they're still mired at the bottom of the standings:
