Round 2 player notes
Here are some of the players you'll see on the Golf Channel's coverage of Friday's second round
BILL HAAS
Haas said he was glad that the wind was not a big factor in the opening round. "I hope it stays like this all week," he said. "I know it won't, but I look forward to the challenge of wind out here."
CHARLEY HOFFMAN
Hoffman said he has a new perspective on life after the recent birth of his daughter. "I have an 8-1/2 week old daughter, so most of my time and energy has been going toward her this last week," he said. "Golf is second now. It's a little different approach this year, and it's definitely a good change."
STUART APPLEBY
With two-time defending champ Geoff Ogilvy having to pull out of the tournament after suffering a finger injury, Appleby has taken up the slack for the Australian contingent, shooting a 4-under 69 to put himself in contention going into Friday. The two other Australians left in the field did not fare well on Thursday, with Jason Day and Adam Scott each shooting even-par 73.
