Editor's note: Melbourne native Robert Allenby is playing in his sixth Presidents Cup this week. The 40-year-old Australian didn't make the team in 1998, the last time the Presidents Cup was played at Royal Melbourne, so this week is particularly special for him. He'll share his experiences on PGATOUR.COM with this exclusive blog.

MELBOURNE, Australia -- We didn't play bad today. Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk just played fantastic golf, especially for Foursomes, as they beat us 4 and 3. Foursomes is one of those games where you can run into buzzsaws. You can play well and lose and you can play poorly and still win. It was just one of those days. Goose and I didn't play bad at all. We actually played pretty well. We had three holes out of all of them where we were just coming out of the rough -- and one of them even moreso that we didn't capitalize on -- but really we played well overall. It was just a couple of putts here and there. That's all it was.
I'm disappointed to lose our first match. But even so, it was pretty cool to play in the Presidents Cup here in Australia. I felt the support and the energy from the moment I started warming up until the moment I finished. I felt it even all the way down to the end when I hit an awesome 5-wood into the 15th to about nine feet. Everyone around me was just pumped it for it. It was great. It was nice to hit a great shot when I really needed to hit a good shot. Sure, I wish Goose had made the putt, but these greens are so tricky. They really are. We both played pretty decent, and we'll be fired up now to definitely go out there tomorrow and kick their butt.
I am playing with Y.E. Yang Friday in the Four-Balls. I am determined to go out there and win tomorrow. I don't want to go out there and lose any more matches. I don't like that feeling. I've had a few of those feelings over the last six Presidents Cups that I've played in, and enough is enough. I definitely want to come out there firing on all cylinders tomorrow.
