Hand it to him: Nicklaus bronze cast at Hall of Fame

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A fine art bronze life-cast of the hand of Jack Nicklaus teeing up a golf ball, the first in a limited edition series by artist Jack Kimmich entitled Hand of a Legend, is now on display at the World Golf Hall of Fame.

The museum-quality art was produced from a casting of Nicklaus' hand, utilizing the "lost wax" process that artists have used for more than 2,000 years to handcraft quality bronze art. The casting, mounted on a base of Midnight Black granite, was first displayed in early June at the Memorial presented by Nationwide Insurance, which Nicklaus hosts in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

Only 1,500 pieces of this first edition are being cast. Kimmich, of JHK and Company in Kennesaw, Ga., will be producing similar life castings of golf greats in the future. The series is licensed by the PGA TOUR and the World Golf Hall of Fame.
