Player Notes
Here are some of the players you'll see during Friday's coverage:
WEBB SIMPSON
Simpson opened the McGladrey Classic with a 7-under 63 to share the lead with Zack Miller. A year ago, Simpson finished T12 at the inaugural event with rounds of 69-68-67-67. Simpson's 63 equals his career-low round on the PGA TOUR. He carded a final-round 7-under 63 to finish T8 at the 2010 Wyndham Championship and a third-round 8-under 63 en route to finishing T10 at the 2011 Barclays.
BILLY HORSCHEL
PGA TOUR rookie Billy Horschel, a 24-year-old native of Grant, Fla., carded a career-best 6-under 64 to open the McGladrey Classic. He has now posted par-or-better scores in 15 of his last 17 rounds on TOUR.
BUD CAULEY
Jacksonville's Bud Cauley, who recently joined TOUR as a special temporary member, opened with a 2-under 68. With $671,150 in earnings this year, Cauley would currently rank No. 114 on the official money list. If his earnings remain inside the top 125 at the end of the season, he will play out of the Top 125 Non-Member category in 2012.
