Player Notes
Here are some of the players you'll see during Saturday's coverage on Golf Channel and NBC:
MARK WILSON
Wilson has two victories in 2011 and with a third at the BMW Championship, he would be just the 11th different player since 2000 to post three or more wins in a season. He would also earn 2.88 million points towards the United States Presidents Cup team. Wilson would have 9,882,864 points and have an inside track into the top 10 that will be finalized at the conclusion of the BMW Championship. David Toms is currently 10th with 8,954,295 points.
JUSTIN ROSE
Rose entered the week ranked No. 34 in the FedExCup standings. Rose is making his 21st start of the season, with four top-10 finishes and a season-best T3 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. He opened the season with eight top-25 finishes in his first nine starts but has since had just two additional top-25s (T15-AT&T National, T6-The Barclays). Rose is making his fifth start at the BMW Championship. After missing the cut in his first start in 2005, he has posted three consecutive top-25 finishes (T19-2006, T5-2007, T21-2010).
WEBB SIMPSON
Should he win this week, Simpson will have won three times in his last four starts. That would be the best streak in a calendar season since Tiger Woods won four times in a five-week stretch in 2006. Simpson, currently No. 1 in the FedExCup standings, finished No. 62 in 2009 and No. 85 in 2010. In 22 previous starts this season, Simpson has nine top-20 and 17 top-25 finishes -- more than his combined career totals in each category entering the season. He has finished inside the top 15 in 13 of his 19 made cuts this season.
