WHAT TO WATCH IN ROUND 2
McIlroy's wrist/reward: Attempting to hit out of pine straw beneath a tree, Rory McIlroy hit the root of the tree with his 7-iron and immediately grabbed his right wrist in pain. He damaged the club and the wrist, receiving medical treatment that included ice and heavy tape on his wrist, hand and forearm. Somehow the prodigy from Northern Ireland managed to shoot even par. Story
Stricker's strong start: Steve Stricker might be the highest-ranked American in the field, but he says he's still battling major championship nerves. Whatever nervousness he has didn't show on Thursday -- he made seven birdies, and didn't even come close to making bogey. Story
