Kodak finale scoring update
Bill Lunde (-19) has a two stroke lead with one hole to go.
Cameron Tringale (-17) is lone Kodak contender who can catch Lunde.
The Kodak Challenge recognizes a player's best 18 Kodak scores throughout the year. Once a player has played 18 holes he can replace poorer scores with better ones. Here's how this rule affects the two final contenders and gives Tringale a shot a catching Lunde:
Lunde is -19 through 21 Kodak holes. His "best" 18 scores are 17 birdies and one eagle. The only way he can advance his score any further is to post an eagle (it would replace a birdie), which would improve his score by one stroke.
Tringale is -17 through 21 Kodak holes. His "best" 18 scores are 17 birdies and one par. The best he can do this week is tie Lunde and force a playoff. To do this, he must post an eagle this week on No. 17 at the Magnolia Course at Disney.
Scoring Scenarios
Lunde clinches
- Any round -- Score an eagle to increase his lead to three strokes
- Friday -- Tringale misses the cut and does not post eagle
- Sunday -- Tringale makes the cut, but does not post eagle in any of his three attempts
Tringale ties Lunde
- Scores an eagle and Lunde does not eagle.
- This would force a playoff on No. 17 after play tournament play has concluded Sunday.
Eagles are a rarity of No. 17
In 2009, Charles Warren had an improbable eagle on the Kodak Challenge hole at No. 17 on the Magnolia Course. It was the first on that hole since 1998 (Lanny Wadkins), and the fifth since 1983.
