At the TOUR Championship, all 30 players have a mathematical chance to win the Cup, but the top 5 control their own destiny; a victory in Atlanta and that player wins the FedExCup.
In the five year history of the PGA TOUR Playoffs, Jim Furyk is the only FedExCup champion to start the TOUR Championship ranked outside the top 5 of the standings (he entered in 11th place).
Steve Stricker is the only player on TOUR who has entered the TOUR Championship ranked inside the top 5 of the standings the past two years of the PGA TOUR Playoffs.
Stricker is also the only player who's been ranked inside the top 5 in three of the first four years of the PGA TOUR Playoffs entering the TOUR Championship.
