SCENARIOS
A brief look at the No. 1, top 10, top 30 and top 125 possibilities

NO. 1 -- David Toms is the only player in this week's field who can overtake current FedExCup points leader Nick Watney at No. 1. Toms is eighth in points and would need to win the Wyndham in order to replace Watney.

TOP 10 -- Five players currently outside the top 10 could move inside with a win -- No. 12 Webb Simpson, No. 15 Bill Haas, No. 18 Brandt Snedeker and No. 28 Charles Howell III. Simpson, Haas and Snedeker could also move inside the top 10 with a high finish.

TOP 30 -- Players need to be in the top 30 after the third Playoffs event, the BMW Championship, in order to advance to the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola, the tournament in which the FedExCup champion is crowned. Any player ranked inside the top 88 in points could move into the top 30 with a win. A few notables who fit this category include Lucas Glover (No. 38), Vijay Singh (No. 42), defending FedExCup champ Jim Furyk (No. 70) and the last player on that list, Davis Love III (No. 88). .

TOP 125 -- Players need to be in the top 125 after this week in order to make the Playoffs. Every player in the field not yet inside the top 125 could still make the Playoffs with a win at Sedgefield and all but three players -- Carl Paulson (No. 243), Skip Kendall (No. 257) and Jerod Turner (no ranking) -- could earn enough points with a second-place finish to move inside the top 125. The only two players between 90 and 125 in the FedExCup standings not playing this week are Graeme McDowell (92nd) and Paul Goydos (93rd). Even with their absences from Greensboro, they are expected to finish inside the top 125 and qualify for the Playoffs based on what it took in 2010. Camilo Villegas is currently the bubble boy at No. 125 and hopes to at least maintain that position to make the Playoffs.

NOTABLES IN NEED
Well-known players playing this week who need to improve their FedExCup position

ERNIE ELS -- At No. 126 in points, Els is just on the outside looking in. He could make the top 125 (based on last year's points) with a finish of 13th or better.

PADRAIG HARRINGTON -- The Irishman gave up a vacation in order to compete at Wyndham and earn a Playoff spot. Harrington is No. 130 on the list and needs a finish of 12th or better..

JUSTIN LEONARD -- The veteran pro from Texas is ranked 142nd and needs a fifth place or better, although there are some scenarios thain which he could move inside the top 125 with a top-10 finish..

PAUL CASEY -- The Englishman is ranked 147th and is looking for a fourth or better finish, although he also has some scenarios involving a top-10 finish.

ANGEL CABRERA -- At No. 150, the Argentinian needs a third or better, but some scenarios could allow him to also finish eighth or better.

HOW THEY GOT HERE
Here's a look at a few players and how they achieved their FedExCup ranking this year

KEEGAN BRADLEY -- As a PGA TOUR rookie emerging from the Nationwide Tour's 2010 money list to earn his 2011 TOUR card, two big weeks have put Bradley in great position. Although he had a tie for seventh (Bob Hope Classic) and a tie for ninth (Valero Texas Open), it is his two 2011 wins that have left him poised to make his presence felt in the Playoffs. In May, Bradley defeated Ryan Palmer in a HP Byron Nelson Championship playoff to jump from 70th to 20th in the standings. After hovering between the 20th and 29th position for the next 10 weeks, Bradley went into last week's PGA Championship ranked 24th and won the year's final major, vaulting him to fourth.

JASON DUFNER --With his second-place showing at the PGA Championship, Dufner moved from 38th to 25th in the standings. Should he win the Wyndham Championship, he can move as high as fourth in the standings. Even if he misses the cut, Dufner is likely assured of finishing inside the top 30 going into the Playoffs.

ARJUN ATWAL -- The defending Wyndham champ started the season nicely, with 101 FedExCup points in his first two starts in Hawaii. But in his next 12 starts, he managed just 46 points, dropping outside the top 140 in mid-May. But a T16 at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial and a T8 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship moved him to 102nd. But he's since fallen back to 120th going into this week.
