Bubble Watch: Plenty of points still on the table

The PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup are fast approaching. There are just three weeks and four events remaining for players to accumulate enough points for the 125-man field at The Barclays.

With the TOUR split between a pair of stops this week, a wealth of opportunities exist for movement arount the FedExCup bubble. Of the 31 players within 15 spots of the 125-man cut line, 28 are in action this week either at Firestone CC or Montreux G&CC.

Last week, Steven Bowditch and Josh Teater crossed the 125th position and moved inside the cut line, but both remain on the FedExCup bubble. Dropping out were Alex Cejka and Padraig Harrington.

In the two years since the changes to the FedExCup points system took place, 354 and 380 points have been required to qualify for the 125-man field at The Barclays. Currently 110 players have more than 354 points and 104 would be above a 380-point cut line.
