Editor's note: Vartan Kupelian is the Champions Tour Insider and a PGATOUR.COM Contributor. Each week, Kupelian will size up the field and provide his top 5 players going into the tournament, based on factors such as the player's strengths, the course setup, recent performances, etc.
There will be an interesting new look at this week's Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.
Fred Couples leads an impressive group of players competing for the first time in the popular team event in Savannah, Ga.
Other first-timers teeing it up at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa are Corey Pavin, Paul Azinger, Michael Allen, Hal Sutton, Bob Tway and David Frost.
The Legends of Golf features three competitions during the week based on age classification. The official 54-hole better-ball competition begins Friday.
This week's Champions Tour Power Rankings:
| Power Rankings: Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf |

Bernhard LANGER |
His timing is impeccable. Langer's 10th career title last week has him primed to defend the Liberty Mutual Legends title he won with Tom Lehman a year ago. He's the eighth fastest Champions Tour player to reach 10 wins (he did it in his 51st start). |

Fred COUPLES |
Not surprisingly, Couples had a bit of a letdown last week in his bid to win his fourth straight title. He'll be refreshed this week alongside his good friend, Jay Haas, who served as Couples' assistant captain at last year's Presidents Cup for the winning U.S. team. |

Corey PAVIN |
The Pavin/Allen pairing will be formidable. Pavin is getting more comfortable with each start. He finished T7 at the Toshiba Classic in his third start and runner-up to Couples at Cap Cana in his most recent appearance. Allen is a Champions Tour major winner. |

Tom WATSON |
Watson and his partner, Andy North, have a terrific track record in this event. They won the 2008 Legends Division and in the three years before -- 2005-2007 -- were champions in the Raphael Division. They finished T11 last year. Don't discount their chances. |

Mark O'MEARA |
A runner-up last week, O'Meara keeps giving himself a chance for a breakthrough. His partner, Nick Price, also had a top-5 finish. O'Meara/Price were T7 last year so there's compatibility and history on their side. Another of the many strong teams in the field. |
