The Starter, Round 4: Reno-Tahoe Open

The fourth round of the Reno-Tahoe Open is set to begin Sunday. Here's are three groups to watch:

1:41 p.m. ET No. 1	<<	Scott McCarron, John Mallinger, Robert Garrigus McCarron hasn't had a 54-hole lead since 2002. Garrigus will hope to finish and forget what happened at Southwind.

EXPERT PREVIEW: PGA TOUR NETWORK correspondent Brian Katrek previews Sunday's final round:

If Scott McCarron hopes to get off to a hot start Sunday, he can look back on a great front nine from Saturday. The tournament host made 4 birdies and an eagle to shoot 30 on the way out on moving day. That bettered his previous front nines by 6 shots. But, Sunday on the PGA TOUR always seems to come down to the back nine. Scott had his worst back nine of the week Saturday with a 37. If he wants to hand himself the trophy after the final round (and I assume as tournament host, he will be handing the trophy to the winner), he will have to close better than he did in round 3.

Lots of players are loving the thin air in Reno. Robert Garrigus is the longest driver on the PGA TOUR, averaging 311 yards for the year. This week, he is averaging 42 yards longer for a blistering 353 yard average. It gets better. Matt Bettencourt and Will MacKenzie are both 50 yards longer this week than the rest of the season. These guys may never want to leave.

We would have forgiven PGA TOUR Rookie Graham DeLaet for looking forward to next week. He will be looking to become the first Canadian to win the Canadian Open since Pat Fletcher in 1954. But, Graham is in great position to win this week after a 62 on moving day that included 5 birdies in a row. The keys for DeLeat on Sunday will be to hit as many greens (16 of 18) as he did in the third round. Duplicating the 25 putts will be nice too. Daleat will be paired with Garrigus and McCarron in the final round.
