EXPERT PREVIEW: PGA TOUR Network on-site correspondent Brett Wright previews Sunday's action:
Rickie Fowler has played his way into the top 10 just as I predicted on Friday in The Starter. He has figured out this golf course and knows that the birdies are there if you stay in the fairway off the tee. I believe Fowler has an 8-under par round in him, but that would mean Rocco Mediate would have to shoot only 2-under par or worse. Again, this is Rocco Mediate's tournament to win if he just stays out of trouble, but everyone wants to see some low scores posted ahead of him, making him grind.

Chris Tidland told me that he knows these California courses, and these bent/poa greens. "Some people get upset when the ball bounces a little or catches the lip or grain and spits out of the hole, I just laugh and know to expect that because that is just the way they are. I consider it an advantage to feel comfortable on these greens."
Scott Piercy was on the 10th tee this morning and I got to ask him about his putting lesson at the Viking Classic with Rocco Mediate. He told me that Mediate was picking the putter up too quick and outside and then would cut across the ball through impact. He told me how he showed Mediate the line, that he should be on more inside to outside and then back in as the putter keeps its momentum and line. It obviously was a great lesson, as Mediate showing his prowess with the putter.
John Mallinger told me on Saturday that there is a 7- or 8-under par round out there, and now he is forced to find that round if he wants to have any shot today.
The forecast for Sunday is partly cloudy with a chance of showers, temperatures near the 70s and 5 to 10 mph winds. This will allow the course to play much as it has all week. The greens may benefit from the moisture and lack of heat, allowing players to take dead aim at some of the tucked hole locations. This could be a birdie-fest today, but the key question is: How many will Rocco make?
