• Due to the threat of thunderstorms, Sunday's finish time has been moved up to 3 p.m. with players going off two tees in threesomes. Tee times will range from 8:45 a.m. -- 10:45 a.m. ET.

Steve Stricker has 27 birdies, 25 pars and two bogeys through 54 holes.

• Steve Stricker set the PGA TOUR 54 hole scoring record with a 188 to take a six stroke lead over Jeff Maggert and Paul Goydos.

The TOUR scoring record for opening 54 holes:

• Steve Stricker has 27 birdies through the first 54 holes. The TOUR record for most birdies in a 72 hole tournament is 32 by Mark Calcavecchia (2001 Phoenix Open) and Paul Gow (2001 B.C. Open).

• Below is the TOUR record for most strokes under par through 54 holes (in relation to par):

25-under Steve Stricker 2010 John Deere Classic
25-under Ernie Els 2003 SBS Championship
25-under Pat Perez 2009 Bob Hope Classic
25-under Gay Brewer 1967 Pensacola Open

• Steve Stricker topped the 54-hole tournament record of 193 that was held by Brian Henninger (1999) and Blaine McCallister (1988).

Shaun Micheel
• Shaun Micheel tied his career-best round today with a 63. His two other 63s came at the 2009 Valero Texas Open (T24) and the 2001 Invensys Classic at Las Vegas (T5).

• Shaun Micheel (69-66-63) has not posted four rounds in the 60s in the same tournament since the 2005 Southern Farm Bureau Open (T5).

• Shaun Micheel is looking for his third top-10 finish of the season, after not recording a single top 10 in 2008 and 2009. His career best is four top 10s in 2003, which was also his highest career finish on the money list (32).

Rocco Mediate
• Rocco Mediate shot a 64 in the third round. It is his best round on TOUR since he shot a 64 at the 2007 Buick Open.

• Rocco Mediate made his first cut after four straight misses on TOUR this season. Mediate, who has 11 missed cuts in 17 starts, is looking for his first top-25 finish of the season. Mediate has recorded at least one top 25 every season on TOUR since 1986.

• Rocco Mediate played his first seven holes in 5-under, highlighted by an eagle and a hole-in-one. At the 541-yard, par-5 second hole, he hit his second shot from 233 yards to within four feet. Five holes later, Mediate used a 4-iron to ace the 219-yard, par-3 seventh. It was the second hole-in-one of the tournament, following Troy Matteson's ace at same hole in round two. It marked the 31st time in 2010 a player has recorded two eagles in the same round.

More Notes
Chris Couch has five events remaining to make $57,250 and earn Major Medical Extension status for the remainder of the season. Couch is T32 after the third-round. Couch would need to finish inside the top 20 to earn enough this week.

• Since 1990, only four players have won the John Deere Classic after recording a round in the 70s (1992-David Frost, 2000-Michael Clark II, 2008-Kenny Perry and 2009-Steve Stricker).

• The honor for largest comeback after 54 holes at the John Deere Classic belongs to Roger Maltbie, who fired a final-round, 6-under 64 at Oakwaood CC in 1975 to overcome a seven-shot deficit en route to a single-stroke win over Dave Eichelberger.

• There have been only four wins by players in their 40s this season on TOUR (Steve Stricker, Cameron Beckman and Ernie Els-2) compared to nine last season and nine in 2008. Stricker and Goydos are both in their 40s. This season there have been 11 winners in their 20s and 12 in their 30s.

• Twelve of 27 third-round leaders/co-leaders have gone on to win this season on TOUR.

• Scoring Averages at the par-71 TPC Deere Run:
