MARK WILLIAMS: Lucas Glover, 2-under-par 71 today in the round, one stroke lead 17-under par. It looked like you had a little bit of a tough start on the front. But brought a little at the end, it must be fairly satisfying to get in and still retain the lead?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes. I'm obviously very happy to finish with three birdies. Yes, rough start, mainly with the putter. Speed was bad all day. I putted off the fringe on 5 and 3-putted. 2 in a row on 7 and 8. It was all speed, all three of them. Just one of those things, we will get it fixed. Luckily it's something I can work on. We will get it worked out tonight and in the morning and be ready to roll

Q. (Inaudible)?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes, anytime you tee it up to win is the goal. Having an opportunity is a great thing. I'm not going to complain when or where. Obviously it will be nice tomorrow. Next week, the week after, six weeks from now. I will take them any way can I get them or any time.

Q. Is there a part of you, Lucas, that's sensible enough when you have a 3-shot lead, and you are down by at least 2, you look at the board and you say, I am where I want to be during the start of the week.

LUCAS GLOVER: Everybody wants an opportunity on Sunday, and I have that. And I knew out there when it wasn't going so well that I was going to have plenty of opportunities, and if I executed and did the right thing, I could make some birdies. A few holes I did, a few holes I didn't. But starting today, after the first two days, no, that isn't where I wanted to be. But Thursday morning, when the bell rung, absolutely. Some kind of two different mindsets there. I brought it back strong, and got some momentum for tomorrow. I'm not too upset about it.

Q. Where did you pick up your birdies on the back 9?

LUCAS GLOVER: 14, 16, 18.

Q. What do you on 14?

LUCAS GLOVER: I went to the green on 14. Actually hit it in that front bunker, probably had a 15, 18 yard bunker shot, hit that to five feet, made that one. 16, hit a good wedge shot to four or five feet. 18, hit 5-iron down there front left.

Q. Below the hole on 16?

LUCAS GLOVER: Actually I was just short of pin-high left. Yes, below the hole, but a pretty good break left to right.

Q. You have had no success on the opening holes here this week and then had some success in the middle of the front 9, is there any reason why? Can you explain it?

LUCAS GLOVER: No. I'm trying just as hard, trying to do the same things. I think 1 with the wind today is a tough hole. 2 again tough hole. 3, I have had birdie putts every day. I hadn't made any putts on those four holes. BirdieS on any of those will feel great tomorrow, obviously. I can't explain it. Just one of those things. Maybe I will take a while getting them around. I can't put my finger on anything.

Q. Can you talk about those back-to-back bogeys?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes, just two poor 3 putts. It couldn't have been more than 18 feet on seven, hit a good putt. Down grain, downwind. I thought I made it, it just kept on going. Then I hit a terrible second putt three and a half feet whatever it was. I think on 8, 25, 30 feet. Left it 8 feet short. That's just not very good. Misread the grain, misread the slope. I probably misread the break too, but I'll never know, I didn't get it to the hole. Just poor execution, poor putts, poor speed. But again that's my control, I can fix that. That's the only comfort in those.

Q. Did you fix it later in the round?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes, unfortunately, after I missed another four-footer on 15, I figured out the problem on the short ones and knocked in a couple of coming in. You hate to find something in a round that I need to fix. But I tried it on 16 and it worked. Tried it again on 18 and it worked. We'll go out and see if it really works.

Q. The wind was weird today, it was kona and then a variety of trade. Did you notice a shift in the middle? When did you notice it?

LUCAS GLOVER: I asked my caddy, Coop, on 16, shouldn't this hole be down out of right? He said why? I said, aren't we going the opposite direction of No. 1? He pulled out the book. I didn't notice it until then. I think we got pretty fortunate on 18 to have it shift. That was the least club I hit in there all week. It was supposed to be into. We got up there and it was cross if not open. It did shift a little bit. The early part of the round, it was the wind we prepared in Tuesday and Wednesday, kona winds. It was just harder. So there weren't any real surprises. It was just a little bit more velocity.

Q. You said you wouldn't mind a little wind just for fun, just for some goofy stuff. Any goofy stuff?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes, my putting. You know, I had to say that yesterday in case it happened. It was tough, it was tough to get the ball close, tough to pull clubs. I was backing off, it seemed like every shot. I just wasn't sure. I wasn't committed. It was definitely tough.

Q. How did it affect you on the greens did you feel?

LUCAS GLOVER: Just speed issues. If I read it, you know into the grain, into the wind, I still wouldn't hit it hard enough. 7, opposite, downwind, down grain toward the ocean, sitting there knowing that I can't hit it firm, or as firm as I think, and sure enough I blow it three and a half feet by. It was in the back of my head. I'm sure it was in the back of a lot of guys' head.

Q. Such a mellow week, it's going to be a dog fight, is it tough to flip a switch and get ready to grind on a Sunday?

LUCAS GLOVER: I've been grinding since Thursday. You start out with double, you got to grind pretty early. But my in-laws are here. It's their last night. They take off tomorrow, so we will go out tonight have a nice dinner, have a good time and do what we've been doing, and wake up tomorrow do the same thing. I said it yesterday, I knew it would tighten up today, guys will play well, some guys weren't and that happened to me. I knew it was against to get a little title, whether I played good or not. Somebody was going to play really well, whatever. Nothing I wasn't expecting starting tomorrow.

Q. Who came up with the idea with that wind you had on 9, to hit driver?

LUCAS GLOVER: Walking down one I saw Troy and Bo, they didn't look lie they had more than a mid-iron in. The deal there, with the downwind, if I lay up where I was, I didn't know if I could hold a fairway wood or a long iron on the green with the downwind. I said I would rather be down there with a mid iron, then if you draw a bad lie, you can hit it short and you got plenty of room to pitch. So that was the thinking there. We were just going to see what the wind was doing when we got to the tee and it was doing the same thing, I said, all right, let's bang it down there. Get it to-7 or 8-iron. I field better with that holding the green, with that wind, than I did with a 3-iron or 5-wood.

Q. A total blind shot?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes, I was aiming up at the camera guy up on the tower. I couldn't see him when I got up over my ball.

Q. 7, 8?

LUCAS GLOVER: I decided on seven because of the lie.

Q. Only when you saw Troy and Bo?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes, I never thought about it. Even Tuesday, Wednesday, the wind wasn't that strong. I could have gotten it to the end, and it would have been like that. When I saw that, Bo is upslope. He and I hit it the same. It's probably a good play if the wind is the same.

Q. If you miss a little, and wind up on the down slope, you are cooked?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yes, you have plenty of room to pitch, but you have to play left.
