Weather: Partly cloudy and less humid with an afternoon high of 89 degrees. Winds NE 5-10 mph
A total of 78 players made the cut at 3-under 137. The lowest cut in tournament history is 5-under in 2007. The second lowest cut in tournament history is 3-under, which was done in 2004, 2005, 2008 and now 2009.
Brandt Snedeker and Arjun Atwal share the lead at 12-under after Friday's second round. Kevin Streelman, Lucas Glover and John Rollins are one stroke back at 11-under.
Since 1976, only 14 second-round leaders/co-leaders have gone on to win the Wyndham Championship, including the last two years (Carl Pettersson/2008 and Ryan Moore/2009).
After the first round, 12 of the top 37 players on the leaderboard began the week outside the top 125 in the FedExCup standings.
Any player ranked 153rd or better in the FedExCup standings entering this week can earn their way into The Barclays with a top 5 this week. Scott Piercy is one such player. He entered the week 140th and is T10 at 8-under after the second round. Piercy is now projected at No. 126 in the FedExCup standings.
The top five players in the standings all set a personal-best 36-hole score.

Snedeker, ranked 45th in FedExCup standings, claimed his first and only PGA TOUR win at the Wyndham Championship at Forrest Oaks CC in 2007. Snedeker has now posted 12 of 14 rounds under-par in Greensboro.
Snedeker has held two other second-round leads/co-leads on TOUR
|
Coming off a T39 finish at last week's PGA Championship, Snedeker is making his 23rd start of the year, highlighted by three top-10 finishes. His most recent top-10 finish was a T8 finish at the U.S. Open.
Arjun Atwal finished sixth at the 2004 Wyndham Championship and T22 in 2006 when the tournament was played at Forest Oaks CC. He missed the cut last year in Greensboro.

Atwal Monday Qualified to get into the Wyndham Championship. The last Monday Qualifier to go on to win was Fred Wadsworth at the 1986 Southern Open.
Atwal's only other second-round lead/co-lead came at the 2005 Zurich Classic of New Orleans (T5).
Atwal's best TOUR finish is a P2 at the 2005 BellSouth Classic where he lost in a five man playoff to Phil Mickelson. Atwal is playing in his 120th PGA TOUR event. He has 51 starts on the Nationwide Tour.
Atwal began the 2010 PGA TOUR season playing on a Minor Medical Exemption out of the Qualifying Tournament/Nationwide Tour category. He had eight events in which he had to earn $586,007 to gain status for the remainder of the season. His eighth start was the RBC Canadian Open, where he failed to earn the needed balance. Therefore, he is not eligible to receive FedExCup points this week, regardless of his finish.
Lucas Glover has finished in the top-25 in each of the last five years at the Wyndham Championship. Glover has shot par-or-better in 23 of 26 rounds at the Wyndham Championship
Kevin Streelman, who won the $1 million Kodak Challenge on 2009, finished T6 at the 2008 Wyndham Championship and T44 at the 2009 Wyndham Championship. In 10 career rounds at the Wyndham Championship, Streelman has nine rounds in the 60s and one 71.
John Rollins has struggled as of late, having missed five of his last eight cuts coming into Greensboro. His lone top-10 finish of the year was a T8 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Rollins is making his eighth Wyndham Championship start this week, and first since 2008 (MC). His best previous finish is a T27 in 2004.
As the final event in the FedExCup Regular Season, the Wyndham Championship plays a vital role in the race to the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. The top 96 players in the FedExCup standings coming into the Wyndham Championship have locked in a spot at The Barclays for the first event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. This means that all the players ranked 97 or higher in the FedExCup standings are "on the bubble" and are fighting to get into the top 125.
With the FedExCup points reset coming after the BMW Championship (third event), it guarantees that all 30 players at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola will have a mathematical chance at winning the FedExCup. It also means that the top five players in the FedExCup points entering THE TOUR Championship will control their own destiny -- if they win THE TOUR Championship they will also win the FedExCup.
Last year, five players made it from outside the top-125 in and into The Barclays due to their performance at the Wyndham Championship.

Since the Kodak Challenge records a player's best 18 Kodak Challenge holes scores, pros with a full Kodak Challenge scorecard can move up the leaderboard quickly. Once a player reaches 18 holes, any additional holes offer the opportunity to replace bogeys and pars on their Kodak Challenge scorecards with better scores. This can create a one, two, or even three-shot swing in a player's score on just one hole. Lee Janzen made a 5-footer for birdie to move to 11-under-par, just one shot behind leaders, Troy Merritt and Rickie Fowler.
Defending champion Ryan Moore missed the cut. He is the second straight defending champion to miss the cut on TOUR (Y.E. Yang/PGA Championship).
