SINGAPORE (AP) -- Adam Scott has a three-stroke lead after eight holes of the suspended final round of the Singapore Open that will now be completed Monday after a 5 1/2-hour thunderstorm delay Sunday.

Scott, a two-time champion at Sentosa Golf Club, was 3-under in his final round and 17-under on the tournament after leading by one stroke after Saturday's third round.

Defending champion Ian Poulter of England was in second place, also after eight holes, with South Korea Kang Kyung-nam a further stroke back after eight.

Masters champion Phil Mickelson had completed 13 holes and was 4-under on the tournament and 2-under in his final round.

Thunderstorms also delayed play for four hours during Thursday's first round.

After Sunday's delay, Scott returned to birdie the fourth hole before adding two more birdies on the sixth and eighth holes.

"I had a bit of momentum going with three birdies after coming back from the rain delay, so it was a bit of a shame that I had to stop," Scott said. "I would love to have kept playing."

With 10 holes left, Scott is not taking his lead for granted.

"I'm thinking of the victory -- not (of) winning it three times. A lot can happen because it is a tough back nine but I would love to go out and play really rock solid and not let anybody have a chance."

After the suspension, Poulter resumed play with a birdie on the fourth hole. However, the Englishman struggled to maintain his momentum when he dropped a shot on the seventh hole.

"It was a long and a bit of a frustrating day to have to sit around for five hours," Poulter said. "But when we got back out on the golf course I hit a lot of good golf shots and just missed a couple of putts from eight feet which would have had me right there with Adam."
