EXPERT PREVIEW: PGA TOUR on-site correspondent John Maginnes previews Saturday's action:

Saturday's forecast

Sunny
Temp: 83 high/64 low
Chance of precipitation 0 percent. Winds from NE around 7 mph.

David Toms leads the way by one over Joe Durant. Bermuda fairways, rough and greens -- you would expect a couple of guys from the south to be right in the mix. The theory holds true with Heath Slocum tied for third and Brian Gay tied for fifth. But this is the modern PGA TOUR, so you can expect guys from all over the globe to vie for the title and that is what you have here at the McGladrey Classic.

The interesting thing is that wind speeds on the Seaside Course have been less than five miles an hour all week. That trend is expected to continue throughout the weekend so scoring should continue to be good on the par-70 layout. The course has quickly established itself, in the first year, as a ball-strikers' course. Joe Durant is a shot off the pace and leads the PGA TOUR in the ball striking category for the year. The four-time PGA TOUR winner could be tough to beat if he continues to hit fairways and greens. He has missed just three fairways and four greens in the first 36 holes.

David Toms' ball striking has been nearly as good as Joe's. David has only missed four greens himself but has taken one less putt over the first two rounds to create the margin separating the two. Expect more of the same on the weekend. We have seen some terrific scoring, 63's in each of the first two rounds. So someone could come out of the pack. Our host Davis Love III said that anyone 4 under or better still had a good chance. With a 62 on Saturday, anyone who made the cut could play their way into contention.
