Billy Andrade and Brad Faxon have set another record, but this one wasn't on the golf course. Recognizing the deep need in their community, the PGA TOUR golfers authorized their charity, Andrade-Faxon Charities for Children (AFCC), to distribute a record dollar amount in annual grants. Fifty two charities who serve at-risk children have received a total of more than $320,000.

This year's grant total of $321,135 is the highest dollar amount distributed by AFCC since their 1994 inception. In total, AFCC has passed the $4 million mark for funds given to children's charities in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.

"These grants will help meet the basic needs of our community's children. We try to lessen the burden of hunger and illness so kids can be kids," said Faxon, co-founder of AFCC.

Included in this year's grants are dollars for educational programs, meals, fuel assistance, and medical services.

"The requests we received were urgent and necessary," said Andrade. "Brad and I believe this is the right year to dig deeper and fund as many requests as possible."

Proceeds from the CVS Charity Classic and individual contributions are the two primary sources of revenue for the charity. AFCC accepts applications for funding and distributes grants on an annual basis to child-related charities in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
