Australia's Porter leads British Open qualifier

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) -- Australia's Ewan Porter shot a 4-under 68 on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead in a 36-hole British Open qualifying event.

Three players from the 44-man field at Kingston Heath will qualify for the British Open at St. Andrews in July. Peter Senior and Aaron Townsend opened with 69s, and fellow Australians Kurt Barnes and Kim Felton shot 70s.
