Martin opens 3-shot lead at q-school finalsDec. 3, 2010 | | PGATOUR.com ORLANDO, Florida (AP) -- Ben Martin had a 4-under 67 on Friday to open a three-shot lead over Kyle Stanley as the final stage of PGA TOUR qualifying reached the halfway point Friday. Martin was at 201 as he tries to finish among the top 25 at Orange County National and a earn PGA TOUR card for 2011. Even so, there was only a seven-shot difference between leading and those now on the bubble as the pressure continues to build. Overnight leader Chris Baryla had a 73 to share sixth in the group at 206 that included Billy Mayfair. Brett Waldman, the caddie for PGA TOUR player Camilo Villegas, had a 71 and was at 211, just outside the cutoff for earning a card. The six-round tournament concludes on Monday. |
