Jan. 31, 2010
The Kodak Challenge is a first-of-its-kind competition for PGA TOUR players, who must play at least 18 of the 30 Kodak Challenge holes to be eligible to win. A player's lowest score relative to par on his best 18 Kodak Challenge holes will be counted. The player with the lowest cumulative score relative to par wins $1 million and the Kodak Challenge trophy.
2010 KODAK CHALLENGE: The 2010 Kodak Challenge schedule continues this week on hole No. 17 at the Bob Hope Classic. The second year of the competition includes 21 of the original 30 holes, with two tournaments joining the Kodak Challenge: No. 15 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C., site of the Quail Hollow Championship; and No. 14 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, home of the Memorial Tournament presented by Morgan Stanley.
The remaining new holes appear at returning tournaments that move to new courses and two existing courses that have changed holes. Twenty-nine of the 30 Kodak Challenge tournaments for 2010 have been finalized. An announcement on the 30th tournament will be made in the near future.
THIS WEEK'S HOLE: The par-4, 435-yard 14th at the Torrey Pines South Course
DESCRIPTION: The hole has a gentle dog-leg left, so a well-placed tee shot down the right side of the fairway is a necessity. Approach shots are best placed in the middle of the green to avoid canyon wildlife on the left side and back and bunkering in the front and right. (Click here for tour)

| First round |
Brenden Pappas, John Rollins and Omar Uresti each carded birdies today on the Kodak Challenge hole at the Farmers Insurance Open to grab a share of the 2010 Kodak Challenge lead at 2 under. Leading the trio at the Torrey Pines South Course was Rollins, who sank a 41-foot putt for birdie.
Rollins' putt wasn't the longest Kodak Challenge birdie of the day, however, as Chez Reavie dropped a 51-foot putt to card a birdie. Reavie is one shot off the Kodak Challenge lead. 2009 Kodak Challenge champion Kevin Streelman and Phil Mickelson each played the picturesque par-4 No. 14 at par Thursday.
Hole No. 14 at the Torrey Pines South Course is the third of 30 Kodak Challenge holes of the 2010 PGA TOUR season. During the Farmers Insurance Open, the pros will play the 435-yard hole once during the first two rounds. Saturday and Sunday rounds will also be played on the South Course. |

| Second round |
The Kodak Challenge hole at the Farmers Insurance Open lived up to its billing as a deceptively difficult hole Friday, as only nine of the 78 players on the South Course at Torrey Pines birdied the 435-yard par-4.
Andres Romero and Justin Rose delivered the most memorable moments on the Kodak Challenge hole in the second round. Romero completed an amazing 64-foot chip-in off the front rough for birdie, while Rose dropped the longest putt of the day on No. 14 -- a 35-footer to card a birdie. |

| Third round |
2009 U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover thrilled fans on the Kodak Challenge hole Saturday, netting a birdie off a pitch shot from 35 yards. Glover's dramatic shot on the par-4 435-yard 14th at the South Course at Torrey Pines was one of the few Kodak Challenge birdies in the third round. The Kodak hole continued to test the pros at the Farmers Insurance Open, as only five golfers were able to score birdies during Saturday's third round.
Glover and Troy Merritt joined the Kodak Challenge leaders at 2 under with birdies Saturday. The longest Kodak Challenge birdie putt of the day belonged to K.J. Choi, who sank a 43-foot putt to card a birdie. Michael Connell had the easiest Kodak Challenge birdie, tapping in after his second shot landed just 2 feet from the cup. |

| Fourth round |
Chad Collins sunk a 37-foot putt for birdie during the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open to join the leaders of the Kodak Challenge. Collins' birdie was one of only nine scored on the Kodak Challenge hole during Sunday's play at Torrey Pines' South Course in La Jolla, Calif.
Collins' putt was not the longest Kodak Challenge birdie of the day, as Chris Crouch dropped a 38-footer for birdie on the 14th hole. Brandt Snedeker had the shortest Kodak Challenge birdie of the day after his second shot left him with just 3 feet from the cup. Snedeker finished tied for second at the Farmers Insurance Open behind winner Ben Crane. Crane played the Kodak Challenge hole at par during the tournament and remains one shot off the Kodak lead at 1 under.
Collins was one of six pros to join the Kodak Challenge lead at 2 under during the Farmers Insurance Open. Twelve pros are currently tied for the Kodak Challenge lead. |
During Sundays round, nine birdies, 46 pars, 21 bogeys and two double bogeys were recorded. The pros carded twice as many bogeys (67) as birdies (33) on No. 14 during the week, as the Kodak Challenge hole was the sixth hardest at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Hole No. 14 at the Torrey Pines South Course at the Farmers Insurance Open was the third of 30 Kodak Challenge holes of the 2010 PGA TOUR season. The next Kodak Challenge hole is the par-4 315-yard 10th at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club in Palisades, Calif., this week. |
