Champions Tour veteran Dana Quigley will have season-ending surgery on Sept. 15 to repair two tears in his left shoulder.

The 62-year-old Quigley said the shoulder has been bothering him for the last year. True to form, though, the Champions Tour's "ironman" has been playing 18 to 36 holes a day while he awaits the operation.
Quigley says one of the tears is in his bicep tendon and the other in a subscapularis muscle. If the doctor only has to repair the tendon, Quigley will only be out four to six weeks. But if the subscapularis muscle is torn beyond a certain point and also needs repair, Quigley could be out between five to six months.
Quigley is not sure how he injured the shoulder but thinks it could be from carrying luggage and golf clubs around the country. An 11-time winner on the Champions Tour, he currently ranks 50th on the money list with a season-best finish of third at the Triton Financial Classic.
