The first groups are ready to tee off on Friday at the RBC Canadian Open. Thursday's rainy weather caused a seven-hour delay during the first round, so 98 players still have to finish -- 39 of those still have to start their first round -- before the second round can begin.

Here's how it sets up:

Groups We're Watching
Tee time Players
TBD
Luke Donald, Vaughn Taylor, Patrick Sheehan Surprise! After one round, it is Sheehan that is the gold star of the group, sitting at T6 after a first-round 68.
TBD
Mike Weir, Sean O'Hair, Scott Verplank
While the spotlight will be on Weir all weekend as the host country's most prominent player, the first-round 65 shot by Verplank puts him front and center with these three.
TBD
Kevin Na, Frank Lickliter II, Brad Adamonis
Na's extraordinary first-round performance puts him alone in first place entering Friday. However, since some players haven't finished their first rounds, he is essentially a clubhouse leader.

Chris DiMarco spent some time Thursday during the rain delay working on his putting. Chris said that he had the ball too far back in his stance and that he was missing a lot of putts left. His ball position is now about one ball inside his left heel. Chris is also working on his rhythm taking the putter back slower, which makes his backstroke shorter, so that he can accelerate through impact. He had made seven cuts in a row before missing the cut last week at the U.S. Bank Championship.

Mark Calchavecchia, playing in his third event in a row, has a new caddie, as his 15-year-old son Lee is caddying for his dad for the first time. Calc said that Lee did a nice job in the pro-am but with rain early in the first round, things became a little more difficult. Mark said that Lee didn't secure the towel very well to the bag and the next thing they knew, the towel was 150 yards away and getting soaked.

Mark McCann is out following three of his students this week; Vaughn Taylor, Tim Herron, and Martin Laird. Mark said that Taylor was swinging well but not getting any breaks and shot 4 over on the front nine. He thought Herron was going to turn it around this week with some renewed confidence, and Martin should do well this week with his length off the tee.

The one stat you need to know
After playing one hole in the morning, Kevin Na waited out a seven-hour rain delay in the tournament plagued by wet conditions for the second consecutive year. There were 98 players who did not finish the round, and 39 of them didn't even begin play.
