HOUSTON, TX-- The fifth edition of the Administaff Small Business Classic, scheduled for October 13-19, will have a new home this year with a move to The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course officials announced today.

The Tournament Course hosted the PGA TOUR's Shell Houston Open 1985-2002. Many of the current Champions Tour players have won titles on the Robert von Hagge design, including Jay Haas, the 2006 Administaff Small Business Classic champion.

"We have matured as a tournament in a short period of time and felt the next step was to move to a golf course that has a rich history in the professional ranks," said Bryan Naugle, Executive Director of the Administaff Small Business Classic. "A majority of the current Champions Tour players have played the Tournament Course through the years, and we know they will enjoy coming back to familiar ground. Also, as we look to the future, we want to provide more not only for Administaff and our other sponsors, but for our spectators. We know we have found that opportunity with this venue."

Current Champions Tour players who have won on the Woodlands Tournament Course (formerly know as the TPC of The Woodlands) when it hosted the Shell Houston Open, include Raymond Floyd (1985), Curtis Strange (1986, 1988), Jay Haas (1987), Tony Sills (1990), Fred Funk (1992) and Phil Blackmar (1997). Mike Sullivan, who is now a Champions Tour Rules Official, also won the event in 1989.

"We can not thank the ownership and staff at Augusta Pines enough for giving us a wonderful start. They not only provided great enthusiasm but worked long hours to help us conduct our first four tournaments."

During the tournament's first four years, Augusta Pines Golf Club hosted Houston's only Champions Tour event and played a role in attracting some of the strongest fields on the Champions Tour.

The Administaff Small Business Classic, the 28th of 30 official events on the Champions Tour schedule, benefits local Houston charities.
