CA Championship welcomes police officers, firefighters and EMT

DORAL, Fla. -- The World Golf Championships - CA Championship would like to welcome all police officers, firefighters, and EMT crews to attend this year's event at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa, a Marriott Resort, from March 18-23, 2008. The tournament will allow the police officers, firefighters, and EMT crews with proper identification to enter the tournament free of charge.

The World Golf Championships--CA Championship will host the top players in the world including the top 30 from the PGA TOUR's 2007 FedExCup rankings, the top 50 from the Official World Golf Ranking and the top 30 from the 2007 European Tour's Order of Merit.

Fans can expect to see the world's best golfers including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Camilo Villegas and Ernie Els. Woods is the six time defending champion of the CA Championship and has won the last three events at Doral. The international field includes players from 21 different countries that play in the PGA TOUR, European Tour, Australian Tour, Asian Tour, Japan Golf Tour, or Sunshine Tour as the World Golf Championships celebrate 10 years of global competition.

"I feel that this is a great way to show our appreciation for all of the hard work the men and women in the law enforcement and fire and rescue services put in on a daily basis," said Executive Director Eddie Carbone. "We want them to know that their hard work does not go unnoticed, and we invite them to join us CA Championship and watch some super golf."

Tournament officials previously announced that all military personnel would also gain admission into the event free of charge as well.
