Who should you keep a close eye on going into this week's PGA TOUR event at Congressional Country Club? Here are a handful of names.

K.J. Choi Choi won here last year. Coming in 12th in FedExCup standings (he was 11th last year at this time), he could move to fifth (moved to fourth last year). However, he has not played frequently or well in the past 10 weeks -- his only made cut in four attempts since the Masters was the Memorial Tournament, where he finished tied for 53rd. Kevin Streelman Streelman is a rookie on the PGA TOUR after seven years on mini-tours; he negotiated all three rounds of q-school to get his card. He has played extremely well early in some tournaments - was in the final group on Saturday at the Buick Invitational and tied for the first-round lead at the U.S. Open, but he hadn't combined that with strong late-round play until the last two weeks, when he finished tied for 10th at the Travelers Championship and tied for 12th (with a final-round 66) at the Buick Open. Tim Clark Clark struggled through the first half of 2007 and was ranked 108th on the FedExCup points list following the U.S. Open. But a torrid stretch of golf in his next three events brought him to 34th, and solid play in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup got him into THE TOUR Championship. If he can heat up like he normally does (he's had two seconds, two thirds, a fourth, two sixths and a ninth between mid-June and mid-August over the past five years), he could be a serious contender in the Playoffs. Steve Stricker Stricker's second-place finish here last year moved him into 11th in the FedExCup standings, and solid play through July and early August took him into the Playoffs as the 12th seed. He is similarly positioned again this year despite four straight missed cuts prior to the U.S. Open. Two very solid rounds on the weekend at Torrey Pines (71-72) might indicate he's ready for another run up to the Playoffs. MORE: 2008 stats | 2008 results | Profile |

Paul Goydos/Rocco Mediate These two journeyman 40-somethings seem to have intertwining fates this year. They both had great tournaments on big stages, falling just short in playoffs; Goydos to Sergio Garcia at THE PLAYERS Championship, and, of course, Mediate to Tiger Woods at the U.S. Open. They are side-by-side in the FedExCup standings at 54th and 55th. They are also the two biggest movers in the FedExCup standings in May and June. Mediate moved from 184th to 54th, and Goydos from 160th to 55th. Goydos followed his second at THE PLAYERS with a 10th at the Crowne Plaza Invitational but also missed two cuts. Rocco's second at the U.S. Open was preceded by a tie for sixth at the Memorial Tournament and followed by four rounds under par at the Buick Open. Either could get into the top 30 with a top-three finish. MORE GOYDOS: 2008 stats | 2008 results | Profile MORE MEDIATE: 2008 stats | 2008 results | Profile |

Camilo Villegas Villegas has been hot recently with six straight made cuts, including three top 10s. He also apparently likes the big stage; he was one of only four players to have three top-10 finishes in the Playoffs last year. MORE: 2008 stats | 2008 results | Profile |
